What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Kidney and Hypertension Specialists?
- Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering phone calls; answering or referring inquiries.
- Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room;
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
- Prepares, cleans and stocks exam and treatment rooms
- Provides patient education as directed by physician
- Maintain patient records while maintaining confidentiality
- Reviews and updates patient chart prior to appointment with recent medication changes and tests results
- Report patients complaints and abnormal vital signs to Registered Nurse for further follow through
- Faxes progress notes to patients’ primary care physician after visits
- Assist with filing, faxing, scanning and mailing when needed
- Assist with patient scheduling and appointment reminders
- All other duties assigned by practice administrator or registered nurse
