Responsibilities
- Manage daily center operations, including staff scheduling, classroom supervision, and program planning to ensure a high-quality childcare experience.
- Lead and mentor teaching staff by providing guidance on child development instruction, classroom management, behavior management, and caregiving best practices.
- Oversee curriculum implementation aligned with early childhood education standards and adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of children, including those with disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations such as first aid, pediatric first aid, CPR certification, and daycare center licensing requirements.
- Maintain open communication with parents through regular updates on their children’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones; address concerns promptly and professionally.
- Conduct staff training on topics such as childhood development, classroom experience techniques, child supervision, toddler care, infant care, and working with students of various ages.
- Monitor classroom environments to promote safety, cleanliness, and engaging learning experiences that support early childhood education principles.
- Handle administrative duties including record keeping for attendance, incident reports, health records, and licensing documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in daycare centers or preschool settings; prior daycare center experience is highly valued.
- Strong background in early childhood education with knowledge of childhood development instruction and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs to create inclusive learning environments.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), pediatric first aid are required; ongoing training in mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents and team members while fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
- Prior nannying or babysitting experience that showcases caregiving skills and responsibility for young children’s safety and well-being.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies suitable for toddlers and infants; experience supervising children in various settings is preferred.
