Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Cook and Teacher Assistant to join our team and support daily operations of meal services, also classroom support for children. Assist cook will assist in meal preparation, help ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Assist cook will assist classroom teachers and work with children when not performing cook responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure timely service of meals that meet quality standards in particular when the cook is unavailable or off
- Act as lead cook when the lead cook is unavailable or off
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure timely meal service.
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain hygiene standards.
- Help with kitchen cleanliness, organization, and inventory management
- Assist classroom teachers and work with children when not performing cook responsibilities.
Skills and Qualifications
- Cooking skills
- Comfortible in the kitchen and cooking for a large group
- Previous experience in a kitchen setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
