Position Overview
As our Preschool Teacher, you’ll help prepare children for kindergarten through engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. You’ll create a safe, nurturing classroom where children can grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically while building strong relationships with families and fellow staff.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans using Ohio Early Learning Standards.
- Create a positive, safe, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Complete Teaching Strategies GOLD documentation and ASQ assessments.
- Communicate with families through daily conversations, conferences, and progress updates.
- Ensure all licensing and center policies are followed.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and administration.
- Attend staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CDA, CPL Level 3 or higher, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) preferred.
- At least 2 years of preschool classroom experience preferred.
- Experience working with children ages 3–5.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training available if needed).
- Must pass a background check and childcare physical.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, actively engage with children indoors and outdoors, and perform the physical duties required in an early childhood classroom.
