Pre-K Teacher Assistant – Kiddie Karrasel Academy

Kiddie Karrasel Academy, a NAEYC-accredited childcare center with over 37 years of serving families in the LeClaire area, is hiring a Pre-K Teacher Assistant for Fall 2026. This position supports our Pre-K classroom in partnership with Pleasant Valley Community School District and is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and ready to make a meaningful impact.

Start Date: On or before August 3, 2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday, availability required between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead Pre-K teacher in implementing a Creative Curriculum-based program
• Support daily routines, small group activities, and individual learning experiences
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
• Observe and document children's progress and behavior
• Communicate positively and professionally with families and staff
• Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare or school setting
• Minimum credential: Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Dependable, punctual, and professional

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field
• Experience with NAEYC-accredited programs
• Familiarity with Creative Curriculum or similar research-based curriculum
• Bilingual (Spanish/English or other language) strongly encouraged to apply
• Experience working with children with diverse learning needs
