Kiddie City Early Childhood Education Centers are expanding, and we’re looking for a Teacher with experience supporting children with special needs and/or challenging behaviors to join our team at our Hood River or Parkdale location. You are more likely to get hired if you are flexible on location.
This is a full-time position (approx. 30 hours/week) with opportunities for growth, leadership, and professional development.

About the Role
We’re seeking a compassionate, skilled educator who can support children with a range of developmental, behavioral, and sensory needs. You’ll work closely with a caring team to create an inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and capable of success.
You will:
- Provide individualized care and guidance to children with special needs or behavioral challenges
- Implement positive behavior support strategies and calm, consistent communication
- Collaborate with team members and families to develop strategies for each child’s success
- Foster social-emotional growth and build trust through empathy and patience
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Encourage every child’s curiosity, confidence, and independence
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children who have special needs or exhibit challenging behaviors (required)
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Calm, empathetic, and reliable demeanor
- Ability to maintain structure while meeting each child’s individual needs
Education & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 6-hour shifts (~30 hours/week)
- Pay: $17–$22 /hour (based on experience, education, and certification)
