Kiddie Academy of Abingdon, the corporately owned Academy, has a rewarding opportunity for a patient, flexible and nurturing person to join our team as a Full Time Lead Teacher – Pre- Kindergarten. About this role: 

You’ll use your caring attitude, creative nature and excellent communication skills in the classroom to foster curriculum-based play. Among your responsibilities will be: 

• Planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials® curriculum. 

• Providing general classroom supervision, which includes personal care, hygiene and positive guidance for the children. 

• Preparing and implementing activities for children that stress physical, social and emotional growth. 

• Providing materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in active play. 

•  Use the Ready, Set, Go program within Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials® curriculum to cultivate learning experiences where 4-year-old’s creativity can thrive. Actively reinforce and extend material learned throughout the year to encourage readiness for school. 

Qualifications

Qualifications 

• 1-year minimum early childhood education work experience 

• 15-hour and 90 Hour Preschool Certifications required

• Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state of Maryland and local regulatory agencies 

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high and pass a medical exam/physical
