Floating Classroom Support Teacher

About This Role

We're looking for a dedicated team member to support our classrooms at Kiddie Academy of Upper Freehold. Our childcare center serves the Allentown, NJ community, providing educational childcare to families in the area. As a team member, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and education of our students. We're seeking someone who is passionate about working with children and available to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with the ability to be flexible if we need to shift the schedule to fit the needs of the business.

What You'll Do

• Maintains a safe and engaging environment for children during all activities.
• Actively participates in staff meetings, Academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
• Effectively executes lesson plans created by the lead teacher, utilizing instructional aids and materials as needed.
• Maintains the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment.
• Ensures the physical and emotional needs of the children are met daily.
• Contributes to ensuring all policies and procedures are implemented to maintain the health and safety of the children.
• Assists children with mealtime and cleanup duties.
• Supports with administrative tasks, including daily notes, accident reports, and attendance reports.
• Collaborates with the lead teacher to prepare and implement classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
• Ensures all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and used properly.
• Takes advantage of professional development opportunities, such as workshops and conferences.
• Reports any issues to the Lead Teacher or Academy Director.
• Is able to lift no less than 40 pounds to waist-high on a consistent basis throughout the workday.
• May be assigned temporary work duties in the absence of regular staff members.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.
  
  

Requirements

• All state and local licensing requirements for the position must be met.
• Candidates must pass all state medical requirements and undergo a clear background check to be eligible for employment.
• Employees must receive the required amount of training hours each calendar year, as mandated by state licensing requirements.
  
  

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in Early Childhood Development, with a willingness to receive additional training.
• Current Child Development Associate certification.
• Up-to-date CPR/First Aid certification.
