What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Teacher - 2 year old's position at Kiddie Academy of Staten Island?
We are seeking a Lead Teacher - 2-Year-Olds to join our school! This individual will plan and present age-appropriate activities for children.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a nurturing and safe environment for our students.
- Focusing on the student's social and emotional development.
- Work on engaging the Kiddie Academy curriculum together with your team to ensure developmentally appropriate, individualized activities that reflect the joy of discovery.
- Diaper Changing.
- Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds to at least waist height consistently throughout the workday.
- Assist with daily teaching activities, verify and complete classroom paperwork, such as health checks, daily notes, accident reports, and attendance reports.
- Assist with ensuring all policies and procedures are being implemented to keep the children healthy and safe.
- Assist children with mealtimes and cleanup.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, Academy events, and parent meetings, as requested.
- Ensure that all classroom and outdoor equipment is in good working condition and is used and maintained properly.
- Report any problems to the Academy Management.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education required or 12 credits in Early Childhood Education.
- At least 1 year of experience working with preschoolers of the appropriate age
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of child development.
- Exhibits the basic core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
Kiddie Academy of Staten Island is an independently owned Educational Franchise Daycare facility. We are looking to hire energetic, enthusiastic individuals to use our learning-through-play Kiddie Academy curriculum in our Preschool program for 2-year-olds.
