Teacher Assistant (Secaucus, NJ)

Kiddie Academy has an exciting opportunity for a patient, flexible and nurturing person to join us as an Assistant Teacher. The ideal candidate will bring a caring attitude, creative nature, and excellent communication and collaboration skills to our passionate team of child care professionals. This position requires flexibility and your willingness to work with a variety of ages. This position is full time, Monday-Friday and requires the ability to work until 6 or 6:30PM if needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assistant Teachers work to ensure compliance with Kiddie Academy's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!

• Completes all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, activities, student accident reports, and attendance reports, etc.
• Helps and supervises children during all activities
• Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules
• Assists Lead teacher as needed throughout the day and maintains routine if the teacher is absent
• Helps children with meal times and clean-up
• Communicates appropriate information to parents and maintains developmental profiles for children
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• If you have the motivation and a big heart, but no experience - that's fine! We will train you! :)
• Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position
• Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility a plus
• Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
• Highly professional and dependable
• Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management
• Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high
