Job Overview
Kiddie Academy of Marysville is seeking a Food Service Manager/Cook, the individual will be responsible for preparing meals and snacks, ordering and inventorying all kitchen items, creative menu planning and will ensure that health and safety standards are met. This is a full time position with the hours of 7:30 am-4:30 pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans, cooks and prepares snacks and meals in accordance with posted menus and nutrition regulations.
- Determines meal and snack count and distributes food to each classroom in a timely manner and in the appropriate portions.
- Collects trays and leftovers from each classroom and disposes accordingly, as well as washes all dishes, pots and pans.
- Orders food and supply items from supplier, checks in deliveries to ensure accuracy of order, obtains items from other vendors as needed.
- Ensures that all state and local health department, licensing, safety and nutritional requirements are met, follows standards of hygiene, safety and sanitation.
- Keeps kitchen, including appliances, cabinets and inventory organized and clean.
· Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings sessions and academy events as requested.
· Maintains ServSafe Food Handlers/Food Manager Certification as required by state or local regulations. May be required to have appropriate state driver’s license in order to drive the KA van.
· Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly schedule personnel are not available.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience with menu planning that emphasizes nutrition and variety for children or similar populations.
- Background in the food industry or fine dining environments is a plus, showcasing attention to detail and quality standards.
