Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and overall child development based on best practices such as Montessori and early childhood education standards
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques
• Support children's social-emotional growth by encouraging cooperation, sharing, and communication skills
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, needs, and achievements to build strong partnerships
• Ensure safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining a clean environment, and practicing first aid and CPR when necessary
• Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental milestones and tailor instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom activities, and special education or early intervention strategies

Skills

• Extensive experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings with a focus on toddler care
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques
• Proficiency in curriculum development across multiple domains including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively
• Ability to implement lesson plans that incorporate early intervention strategies when needed
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations
• Certification in first aid and CPR; experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus
• Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment; experience in preschool teaching or daycare experience preferred

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
