Responsibilities

- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Support children's social-emotional growth by encouraging cooperation, sharing, and communication skills
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, needs, and achievements to build strong partnerships
- Ensure safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining a clean environment, and practicing first aid and CPR when necessary
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental milestones and tailor instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom activities, and special education or early intervention strategies
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings with a focus on toddler care
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques
- Proficiency in curriculum development across multiple domains including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively
- Ability to implement lesson plans that incorporate early intervention strategies when needed
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations
- Certification in first aid and CPR; experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment; experience in preschool teaching or daycare experience preferred
