Position Summary:
The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants (ages 6 weeks to 12 months). This role follows all Colorado Office of Early Childhood (OEC) licensing regulations and promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all infants at all times
* Follow all Colorado state licensing rules and center policies
* Maintain required staff-to-child ratios (1:5 for infants in Colorado)
* Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and daily routines
* Support developmental milestones through play, sensory activities, and interaction
* Maintain accurate records (feeding, diapering, sleeping, and developmental observations)
* Practice safe sleep guidelines as required by Colorado regulations
* Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized classroom environment
* Communicate daily with parents regarding their child’s progress and needs
* Supervise and guide assistant teachers or aides as needed
Qualifications (Colorado Requirements)
* Must meet Colorado Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) qualifications, which include ONE of the following:
*PDIS trainings
* Pyramid Plus or EQIT
* OR CDA (Child Development Associate) credential
* Experience working with infants (preferred)
* Must be at least 20 years of age
* CPR & First Aid (Infant/Child) certification
Skills & Competencies
* Strong understanding of infant development
* Patience, nurturing attitude, and attentiveness
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Strong communication skills with families and staff
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
* Frequent bending, sitting on the floor, and engaging in active play
* Ability to respond quickly to children’s needs
