You'll play a vital role in producing critical components used in industry-leading fire protection systems while working alongside a team committed to safety, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Set up and operate lathes and milling machines.
- Review technical drawings, blueprints, instructions, and prove-out production parts.
- Perform all aspects of CNC machining, including setup, milling, turning, and close-tolerance manufacturing.
- Take precise measurements and determine appropriate machine settings.
- Program and operate manual, semi-automated, or automated machines (e.g. lathes, mills, grinders).
- Use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and compasses) for accurate measurement.
- Maintain physical stamina (standing for up to 8 hours) and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Plan the proper sequence of tasks for an efficient workflow.
- Monitor operations and adjust feeds or settings as needed.
- Maintain inventory of completed components.
- Inspect output for quality assurance and address any defects.
- Perform routine machine maintenance (e.g., refilling coolant, lubricants, hydraulic oils).
- Keep a clean and safe workstation.
- Support team operations by completing related tasks as needed.
- Strong coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially in measurements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, route sheets, and specifications.
- Vertical Mori & 5-Axis Mori exposure preferred
- Knowledge of metal properties, including brass, stainless steel, bronze, and aluminum.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software is highly desirable.
- Strong mathematical and basic computer skills.
- Experience with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
- Understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a vocational/technical program or apprenticeship preferred.
