Part time assistant teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction and foster a positive learning environment for young children. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and committed to nurturing the developmental needs of students. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with lead teachers to implement curriculum, manage classroom activities, and support children’s social, emotional, and academic growth. Experience with special education, including working with children with autism or disabilities, as well as familiarity with Montessori or preschool methodologies, is highly valued. Duties

• Assist lead teachers in developing and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and behavior management strategies.
• Support classroom management by fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment conducive to learning.
• Provide individualized attention to children, including toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their developmental needs are met through tailored activities.
• Help facilitate activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior management.
• Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting instructional methods and providing additional assistance as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and behavior reports for parent communication and record keeping.
• Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials for lessons and maintaining cleanliness of the learning environment.
• Collaborate with other staff members on curriculum development and classroom strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns related to their development or well-being.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings, or similar environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles, childhood education techniques, and classroom management strategies.
• Experience with special education practices, including working with children with autism or disabilities, is a plus.
• Familiarity with Montessori methods or preschool curricula is desirable.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
• Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and implement behavior management techniques successfully.
• Childcare certification or relevant coursework in early childhood education is advantageous.
• Demonstrated patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for fostering a positive educational experience for young learners. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
