Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction and foster a positive learning environment for young children. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in developing and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and behavior management strategies.
- Support classroom management by fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment conducive to learning.
- Provide individualized attention to children, including toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their developmental needs are met through tailored activities.
- Help facilitate activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior management.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting instructional methods and providing additional assistance as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and behavior reports for parent communication and record keeping.
- Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials for lessons and maintaining cleanliness of the learning environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members on curriculum development and classroom strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns related to their development or well-being.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings, or similar environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, childhood education techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience with special education practices, including working with children with autism or disabilities, is a plus.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or preschool curricula is desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and implement behavior management techniques successfully.
- Childcare certification or relevant coursework in early childhood education is advantageous.
- Demonstrated patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for fostering a positive educational experience for young learners.
