What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Early Educator position at Kid Logic Learning?

SUPPORT Special Early Educator - VARYING AGES

A Support Special Educator position, working with young children with IEP's, challenging behaviors, and additional classroom educator support. As a team member for each support plan, you will have the opportunity to learn each child's unique set of needs throughout varying ages and stages of development. You will be a vital asset to our team as you offer support for children, families and educators which may be in multiple classrooms or one specific classroom in a nurtuting environment that honors children and their development. Working collaboratively with other colleagues, together you will provide enriching and learning experiences for these young children as you build strong and positive relationships with them and their families. Using Emergent Curriculum strategies and inspirations of Reggio Emilia practices, your observations of children's play will guide you as you create and implement an ever-evolving curriculum that follows the interests and discoveries of children to expand their learning and building the skills needed for each individual child's support plan. Training and support will be provided.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATORS, Degree that includes certification that proves a teacher has the specialized knowledge and skills to work with students with a wide range of disabilities, including learning, behavioral, physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities.
-Preference given to candidates who completed relatable work.
-Supporting the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional growth and development of children ages 6 weeks to 7 years of age by modeling positive language skills, guiding positive peer play, and offering support during problem-solving experiences.

-Implementing an materials, tools that align with Kid Logic Learning philosophy through using Emergent curriculum that honors the interests presented by the children by observing their play, reactions, questions and curiosities with materials and peers, and creating play plans that extend and build upon their ideas. Training and support provided.

TEAM REQUIREMENTS:
-A Special Early Educator must have a willingness to adapt to school wide needs. This position may require Educator may be utilized in other capacities to support overall program functionality, subbing in classrooms that are consistent with the educators presents.

-Willingness to engage with children at their level, and use positive language and discipline strategies. Training will be provided.

-Willingness to continue education and professional development within the field.

-Dependable, adaptable, and flexible with schedules and needs.

-Open to mentoring opportunities and constructive feedback, and open minded to hearing other perspectives in effort to problem solve collectively in a positive and compassionate manner.

-Hold oneself accountable for actions and practice self-reflection skills.
