Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Building Closer to join our team during the afternoon hours from 2pm to 6pm. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and cleanliness of our facility while providing a warm and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. Responsibilities
- Secure the building at the end of the day, including locking doors, windows, and securing all entry points
- Conduct safety checks throughout the facility to ensure all areas are safe and hazard-free
- Complete daily cleaning routines to maintain a tidy and sanitary environment for children and staff
- Monitor the premises for any maintenance issues or safety concerns, reporting them promptly
- Assist with child supervision during transition times or special activities as needed
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding daily operations, safety protocols, and facility needs
- Support emergency procedures including first aid or CPR if necessary, following mandated reporting laws
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or early childhood education preferred
- Knowledge of child development instruction, behavior management, and classroom management techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR (Child and Pediatric First Aid), and mandated reporting laws required or willing to obtain upon hire
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to perform child supervision duties responsibly while maintaining a safe environment
- Classroom experience in daycare centers or early childhood programs highly desirable
- Demonstrated caregiving skills with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children
