Some of the exciting things that you will do as a Director include, but are not limited to:
Financial:
- Ensures accuracy and timely collection of tuition in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintains an accurate financial accounting of the center’s operation and protects the company’s monetary assets.
- Prepares and forwards accurate payroll, accounting, and operations reports by predetermined deadlines.
- Hires and maintains high quality and performing staff.
- Manages a team of 4 to 8 employees to ensure successful operations of the center.
- Hires and maintains teaching staff.
OPERATIONS, SAFETY &SECURITY:
- Maintains good working relationships with the licensing board representative and the city health representative.
- Maintains building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe environment that meets corporate standards and all regulatory agency requirements.
- Requires staff to enforce all safety policies and procedures in compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
- Implements all standards necessary to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment, including universal precautions.
- Be accountable for the operation of the school, ensuring that the school is operating in accordance with company and state licensing standards.
- Spark imagination, build self-esteem and help children discover new things each day.
- Help oversee the curriculum, manage personnel, and execute the company’s high standards of excellence.
- Recruit, select and retain quality staff.
MARKETING & ENROLLMENT:
- Fills the center to capacity while maximizing the profitability of the operation. Daily attendance should meet licensed capacity. *
- Is available to parents at their convenience—listens attentively to their concerns and takes appropriate action.
- Maintains retention of families by implementing quality programs.
- Tracks all inquiries, converts inquiries into parent tours, and converts tours into enrollments.
- Conducts parent meetings and other conferences as appropriate.
- Regularly solicits feedback from parents in order to improve the center.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- The Center Director’s qualifications MUST meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience.
- Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Knowledge of state licensing

Education and Experience Qualifications:
Directors must meet one of the following combinations:
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 college credit hours in child development and six credit hours in management, plus at least one year of experience in a licensed child care center
- Associate degree in child development or a closely related field with six credit hours in child development, plus at least two years of experience
- Sixty college credit hours with nine credit hours in child development and six in management, plus at least two years of experience
- Child care administrator’s certificate with at least 15 credit hours in child development and three in management, plus at least two years of experience
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Certified Child Care Professional (CCP) credential, plus six credit hours in management, and at least two years of experience
- Day-care administrator’s credential from a recognized organization, plus at least two years of experience
- Nine credit hours in child development and nine in management, plus at least three years of experience Childcare Training License/Certification:
- Texas Director’s License (Required)
