Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
- Manage stock levels by assisting with inventory counts and replenishing merchandise as needed
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Ensure a clean, organized checkout area and adhere to all safety and security procedures
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form; bilingual abilities are a plus!
- Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and calculating change swiftly
- Experience in retail sales, merchandising, stocking, or grocery store operations is advantageous
