What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Nurse position at Kickapoo Tribal Health Center?
This position is organizationally falls under the Public Health Director of the Kickapoo Tribal Health Center as operated by the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. Operational hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., or as needed to better serve the community. The purpose of this position is to assist in Public Health services including primary care referrals, home assessments, preventative services as well as community screening and educational outreach activities and immunization clinics, including employee health. The incumbent will assess and develop educational activities prioritizing community health needs with an emphasis on prevention and community outreach with strategic program enhancement and development. In addition, preventing and managing healthcare-associated infections within healthcare settings. Develop and implement infection control protocols, monitor compliance with hygiene practices, and educate healthcare staff and patients on infection prevention measures.
Qualifications:
Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the State of Oklahoma – Associates Degree or higher
Experience:Minimum of two (2) years working in a clinical setting
Registered Nurse, preferred
In addition:
- Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner
- Must be computer literate, and have strong office skills
- Current Oklahoma Nursing License with no restrictions required Mandatory Requirements:
- Must have OSBI and Federal background clearance
- Must submit to and pass pre-employment and random drug screening
- Must have valid Oklahoma Driver License
