Position Summary: This role supports the planning and execution of events by managing client inquiries, conducting site tours, preparing contracts, and coordinating with internal teams and vendors. Candidates must have hotel or event planning experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency in Salesforce Sales & Catering and Versa. A professional, detail-oriented, and customer-focused approach is essential, along with the flexibility to work varying hours.

Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications

• College graduate.
• Previous hotel or event planning experience required.
• Food and Beverage experience strongly preferred.
• Computer training and typing skills required.
• Knowledge of local area helpful.
• Must have ability to communicate with proper grammar in English.
• Able to use Salesforce Sales and Catering system and Versa.
• Must have strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Able to provide legible, detailed communication and have excellent telephone and interpersonal skills.
• Able to compute basic mathematical calculations.
• Must have professional demeanor and positive, friendly attitude.
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail and accuracy.
  
  

Expectations & Responsibilities

• Includes responding to inquiries in a timely fashion, meeting with clients to tour sites, plan banquet services and menus and upsell variety of services and products.
• Prepares contract, collects deposits and coordinates third-party vendor information.
• Distributes information to Resort (including hotel) departments and Town of Kiawah via forms and meetings.
• Must have strong problem solving skills, communication skills, attention to detail and creativity.
• Guarantees timeliness, accuracy and follow-up of event through final payment.
• Attends specified meetings and other functions as required.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and days.
• Maintains and supports Service Commitment and Core Values.
• All other duties, as assigned.
  
  

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 lbs. as needed for event materials or setup.
• Must be able to bend, reach, and move freely throughout event spaces and property.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing demands.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the phone for extended period
