Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in a group home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to help guide and supervise our youth including administering prescribed medications, documenting activities, asssisting with or cooking meals or any other basic living skills. This role requires a blend of practical skills,emotional intelligence and trauma informed to ensure the well-being of youth.
Duties
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Provide direct support in daily routines, ensuring youth feel comfortable and secure.
- Administer medications as prescribed.
- Implement behavior management techniques as needed to promote positive interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within youth living areas to ensure a safe environment.
- Engage youth in social activities.
- Drive youth to outings as required, ensuring their safety during transportation.
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary, responding promptly to any health-related incidents.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving role, particularly in a group home setting, is preferred.
- Able to obtain a food handlers certification.
- Familiarity with administering medications and understanding medication management protocols is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with youth and their families are crucial.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and respect for the dignity of all youth.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation duties.
