JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist project management to schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the logistical and technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. Work closely with project management and jobsite supervisory personnel to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The principle duties and responsibilities of the position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist the project manager in organizing, planning and implementing strategy
- Coordinate operations and ensure schedules and objectives are met
- Supervise and motivate jobsite supervisory staff
- Monitor operating costs, budgets and resources
- Communicate with clients and evaluate their needs and specifications
- Create reports, analyze and interpret data
MEASURE OF PERFORMANCE:
- Evaluation will be based on duties, abilities and experience and may include input from other division personnel.
- Bringing in projects on schedule and allocating resources properly. If budget problems arise, informing management early and working to proactively correct costly situations.
- Effective writing and communication skills.
- Use of the proper materials, reference tools, and software to complete the necessary tasks.
- Maintains productive relationships with customer, subcontractors and vendors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or enrolled in program with Construction Management concentration.
- EXPERIENCE: Related experience in the construction industry.
- SKILLS: Business writing ability. Knowledge of data analysis procedures and good math skills. Ability to read plans/specs. Strong working knowledge of Bluebeam (PDF writer), ProCore, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- PHYSICAL: Includes sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands, arms, legs, and feet. Must be able to hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand. Work for majority of time at desk on a computer workstation.
- MENTAL: Must have desire and aptitude for learning new things. Must be able to work under time and budgetary constraints.
- LICENSES/CERTIFICATION: PMP certification a plus. Valid driver's license required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This person will work in one of the three Florida offices: Tampa, Orlando or Pompano Beach, with frequent trips to surrounding jobsites. This person will be assigned an office area, with appropriate workstation and computer equipment.
- This position may require overnight travel on a fairly regular basis or assignment to an out-of-town project for extended periods.
