Underground Lead Laborer

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced Underground Lead Laborer to oversee work and coordinate underground construction projects within the commercial construction sector. The ideal candidate will lead crews, ensure safety compliance, and manage project schedules to deliver quality results on time and within budget. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to complex infrastructure projects while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. This position will be working along aside the crew.

Must have prior underground construction experience, will not train. Class A preferred but not required. Work in the 7-county metro area. New Vermeer drill and sucker. Shop is located in the Annandale area. Pay is based on experience. KHR is the hiring manager for this company.

Duties

• Supervise underground construction activities, around installing cable, piping, and tunnel work, ensuring adherence to project plans and safety regulations.
• Manage and coordinate daily operations of laborer crews, assigning tasks effectively to optimize productivity.
• Review technical drawings, and blueprints to interpret project requirements accurately.
• Ensure compliance with federal construction safety regulations such as OSHA standards and local construction codes.
• Oversee quality control measures, including inspection of work progress and adherence to specifications.
• Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Proven ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Excellent communication skills for managerial coordination and crew supervision.
• Familiarity with construction site safety management practices and OSHA compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership in supervising teams while maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
