What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Title Processor/Closer position at KHL Law?
Law firm with offices in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa Bay that provides legal services in the areas of commercial and real estate litigation, banking and real estate transactions is hiring. This is a full-time, on-site position for our Miami and/or Fort Lauderdale offices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with attorneys on residential and commercial real estate purchases, sales, and refinance transactions.
- Emphasis on proficiency with commercial transactions and closings.
- Timely open, process and close title files.
- Working knowledge of ordering title commitments, estoppels, lien searches.
- Prepare and calendar critical dates for each transaction.
- Timely respond to all emails and calls from buyers, sellers, lenders, attorneys, realtors, and/or brokers.
- Keep attorneys apprised of status of all files.
- Prepare closing documents, seller conveyance documents and corporate documentation.
- Preparation of Settlement Statements, Closing Disclosures, HUD-1s.
- Balance files in preparation for the disbursement of closing funds.
- Monitor files and escalate issues requiring attorney involvement.
- Work closely with Lenders, attorneys, and clients in a professional manner.
- Manage the distribution of original closing documents both in-house and to others.
- Timely obtain funding approval from lenders, fund transactions, adhere to closing/escrow instruction letters and timely deliver closing packages to lenders.
- Review and record Closing documents.
- Timely order title policies and have attorneys review and sign title policies and deliver policies to lenders and buyers.
- Ensure organization of files including maintenance and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Advanced technological abilities.
- Experience with ClosingVue, Qualia, Simplifile, ATIDS, AltaStar and LEAP, or similar programs for the management of title and case files.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in real estate title and working with attorneys
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
