What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cultivation Technician position at Kheti?
Kheti LLC, named after the Sanskrit word for farming, is looking for cultivation technicians to join its cannabis cultivation team at its new sealed greenhouse facility just north of Ann Arbor. The technician would report to the cultivation lead and would be responsible for upholding Kheti’s commitment to producing the highest quality product consistently at scale. In this role you will be working with a team cultivation technicians and the cultivation lead to:
- Participate in morning meetings to review goals and objectives
- Execute daily tasks according to the Cultivation Schedule and guidance from the cultivation lead, including pruning, transplanting, room management, defoliation, foliar applications, etc
- Maintaining pace of tasks, receiving guidance, and being receptive to feedback
- Comprehend and follow all cautionary labels, SOPs, and instructions provided by the cultivation lead
- Adherence to all operational processes and procedures
- Prevent pest, virus, and disease contamination in the cultivation facility by using proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and established biological controls
- Ensure accurate plant inventory, including strain names, plant tag numbers, and plant counts
- Adhere to safety standards, promptly addressing and managing safety concerns
- Perform various tasks such as scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, defoliating, pruning, and other cleaning duties
- Operate tools like hoses, power washers, sprayers, etc., as necessary
- Maintain cleanliness in all cultivation areas, as well as with tools and equipment.
- Assist in the setup and break down of cultivation areas
- Sanitize cultivation areas and associated equipment by sweeping workspaces, disinfecting crop benches, and preparing for another round of transplanting
- Maintain a well-organized and hygienic environment within the cultivation facility
- Preserve and embody the company's culture and mission
Skills and Experience Required:
- Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and cannot hold a caregiver card
- Requires working in a hot and humid environment with PPE
- PPE, Shoes, and UV light blocking glasses will be provided by the company
- Ability to work in a team environment and be detailed oriented
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to work on ladders or scaffolding 10ft-15ft high
- Must be able to bend and twist body in narrow aisles
- Capable of lifting and moving 50lbs
- Basic communication and computer skills like using email, google drive
- Experience working in fast-paced environments
- Able to stand on feet for 8 hour shift
- Strong attention to detail

- Abide by high personal hygiene standards
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time
- Ability to work effectively and in a cohesive team atmosphere with all areas

Schedule:
- Two shifts available
- Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday
- Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday
- 7am - 5:30pm with 30 min lunch break
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
