Kheir Clinic is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and strategic Coordinator for our thriving nonprofit organization.
MISSION
Kheir is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides culturally and linguistically- sensitive quality healthcare and human services at low or no cost to the underserved and uninsured residents of Los Angeles.
ASSIGNMENT
The position is a fantastic opportunity to support LA’s underserved community through a variety of strategic marketing communications responsibilities. The talent will be a member of the External Affairs team, comprised of specialists in Marketing Communications/Social Media, Community Development & Media Relations, and Grant Writing, which collectively will be responsible for managing grants, designing programs, and developing relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors. The Coordinator will report directly to the head of External Affairs, in a cross-functional team, comprised of Development, Fundraising, Communications/Community Engagement, Media & Public Relations specialists. Solid experience with digital content and marketing communications and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Communications
- Manage, maintain and review all initial requests for marketing materials and social media posts. Ensure that requests meet branding guidelines.
- Create and design marketing materials in collaboration with internal clients.
- Partake and support the team with marketing related logistics and event communications.
- Create content for digital communication.
- Be responsible for own post-event evaluations and reporting
- Prepare press releases in multiple languages, disseminate and track outcomes.
- Develop and systematize internal and external communications protocols.
- Identify, develop and implement communication strategies to support patient care and engagement.
- Develop targeted and segmented brochures and print materials for patients, donors, staff, medium, demographics, etc.
- Research market trends and prepare recommendations for any operational shifts.
- Responsible for compiling research data and preparing annual reports, donor reports, etc.
- Draft communication to funders, and take lead on any other funder or donor engagement activities.
- Responsible for writing in Korean: donor newsletters, press releases, articles employing the use of storytelling.
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned
Social Media
- Daily/weekly postings to the organization's social media account platforms, as assigned and agreed upon by multiple internal stakeholders.
- Research, plan, prepare, and post relevant copies, ideas, photos/images for social media and donor-targeted e-blasts.
- Prepare and schedule calendar of posts, including ideas for fund development, service promotions, special initiatives, awareness campaigns, holidays, etc.
- Update and maintain website in multiple languages.
- Address and/or forward e-mail messages from website inquiries.
- Build, strengthen and sustain the organization’s digital footprint through segmented and other strategical effort and campaigns.
- Organize digital and physical assets/database/collaterals to develop a comprehensive and consistent agency archive.
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years of experience in a communications role (Bachelor Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, specializing in storytelling
- Event-marketing experience
- Tech-savvy with absolute proficiency in Google Workplace, social platforms and solid knowledge and comfort with social media tools and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions and implement feedback
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva a MUST
- Detail oriented --experience with proofreading documents, articles, or publications
- Poise to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate with internal and external clients
- A self-starter, problem-solver who is self-reliant and can work both independently and as a team player
- Detail-oriented and organized, quick and flexible learner
- Highly organized, able to effectively prioritize and respond accordingly to the shifting needs of the team
- Resourceful self-starter with a positive attitude who navigates ambiguity and anticipates the needs of the team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and analytical skills along with the ability to think strategically and creatively and a reasonable appreciation for the unknown
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is primarily an office position that requires only occasional bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and moving of office materials weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires daily use of a company provided computer and requires entering, viewing, and revising text and graphics on the computer terminal and on paper. The position requires occasional travel to attend on- and off-site meetings.
