Job Summary
KHC Environmental is seeking a reliable, hardworking Driver / Laborer to join our erosion control team. This position is responsible for safely operating a truck with a trailer, properly loading and securing equipment, transporting materials to job sites, and assisting crews with daily erosion control installation.
The ideal candidate has experience driving trucks with trailers, understands proper equipment loading and securement, and is willing to perform hands-on labor in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a truck while towing equipment trailers.
- Properly load, secure, and transport equipment and materials to and from job sites.
- Perform daily vehicle and trailer inspections.
- Assist with installation and maintenance of erosion control measures, including:
- Silt fence installation
- Seeding and straw application
- Erosion control matting and blankets
- Other erosion control and site preparation activities
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck, trailer, and work area.
- Follow company safety procedures and job site requirements.
- Work alongside crew members to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (5-year MVR required).
- Experience driving a heavy-duty pickup truck with a trailer.
- Knowledge of proper equipment loading, weight distribution, and load securement.
- Ability to safely back up and maneuver a truck and trailer.
- Currently have or ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card
- Previous construction, grading, or erosion control experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor labor in varying weather conditions.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Compensation
- $19.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
