Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Assistant role based in Orland Park, IL. The Medical Assistant will support clinicians by rooming patients, taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Daily responsibilities include assisting with basic clinical tasks, handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow to ensure efficient operations. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, coordinating with the front office, and helping to keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and organized. The Medical Assistant will contribute to a welcoming environment and provide courteous, responsive service to all patients.
Qualifications
- Clinical support skills, including Medical Assisting and Patient Care, with the ability to assist providers in routine examinations and procedures.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately communicate, document, and understand provider instructions and patient needs.
- Experience in a Medical Office setting, including working with scheduling, patient flow, and coordination between front and back office.
- Ability to manage Medical Records, including accurate charting, electronic health record (EHR) use, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on professionalism, empathy, and patient-centered service.
- Ability to work on-site, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with clinicians and staff.
- Current CPR/BLS certification and prior experience in a primary care or family practice setting are beneficial.
