CCTV SURVEILLANCE & DRONE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

KH Executive Security Consultants
Location: Memphis, TN
Pay: $20.00–$35.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time and Part-time
Work Location: In person

Position Summary

KH Executive Security Consultants is seeking an experienced CCTV Surveillance & Drone Operations Specialist to support security operations throughout the Memphis area.

This is a specialized security-operations position combining real-time video surveillance, incident monitoring, communications, investigative video review, and small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) operations.

We are looking for someone who can actively assess what is occurring—not simply watch cameras. The successful candidate must be able to recognize unusual behavior, identify potential threats or security concerns, communicate actionable information, document incidents accurately, and support field personnel during developing situations.

Candidates with experience in security operations centers, casino surveillance, real-time crime centers, law enforcement, military operations, emergency communications, loss prevention investigations, or similar operational environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation varies based on experience, certifications, qualifications, schedule, assigned responsibilities, and level of responsibility.

CCTV & Surveillance Responsibilities

  • Monitor live and recorded video across multiple cameras and locations using Video Management Systems.
  • Proactively identify suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, theft, safety hazards, security breaches, and other unusual activity.
  • Maintain situational awareness while monitoring multiple sources of information.
  • Conduct remote security and operational spot checks.
  • Communicate timely and accurate information to field security personnel and supervisors.
  • Dispatch or coordinate security personnel and notify law enforcement, fire, or EMS when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate chronological activity logs and incident documentation.
  • Review recorded video for investigations, incident follow-up, and evidence preservation.
  • Accurately document people, vehicles, behaviors, events, and timelines.
  • Escalate significant incidents or security concerns in accordance with established procedures.

Drone / sUAS Responsibilities

  • Operate small Unmanned Aircraft Systems for authorized security and operational missions.
  • Support perimeter monitoring, property inspections, incident response, special events, and other approved assignments.
  • Conduct preflight inspections, airspace reviews, weather assessments, and mission planning.
  • Monitor aircraft status, surrounding hazards, people, vehicles, structures, and other airspace users.
  • Provide live aerial information to security personnel, supervisors, management, and other authorized personnel.
  • Complete required flight logs, mission documentation, and post-flight reporting.
  • Maintain aircraft, batteries, controllers, accessories, software, and related equipment.
  • Immediately report equipment issues, unsafe operating conditions, incidents, or regulatory concerns.
  • Follow applicable FAA requirements, company policies, client requirements, and established operating procedures.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must:

  • Have a minimum of two years of direct experience in CCTV surveillance, casino surveillance, security operations center operations, command-center operations, real-time crime center operations, emergency communications, law enforcement operations, military operations, loss prevention investigations, or a closely related technical environment.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrate experience monitoring multiple sources of information and identifying suspicious or unusual activity.
  • Be able to clearly communicate actionable information during developing incidents.
  • Possess strong written communication and report-writing skills.
  • Be comfortable using computers, digital reporting systems, and video-management technology.
  • Be able to maintain concentration while monitoring multiple video feeds for extended periods.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in routine and high-pressure situations.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.

Traditional security-guard experience consisting primarily of access control, standing posts, foot patrols, or vehicle patrols does not independently satisfy the required surveillance or command-center experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Current FAA Remote Pilot Certificate under Part 107
  • Current Tennessee Armed Security Guard registration
  • Security Operations Center or command-center experience
  • Casino surveillance experience
  • Real-time crime center experience
  • Investigative or loss-prevention surveillance experience
  • Prior law enforcement or military operational experience
  • Experience with Avigilon, Milestone, Genetec, DJI, DroneSense, Skydio, Axon Air, or similar technology
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience

FAA Part 107 Requirement

A current FAA Remote Pilot Certificate under Part 107 is preferred but is not required at the time of application.

Candidates who do not currently possess a Part 107 certificate must be willing and able to:

  • Complete a company-administered Part 107 readiness assessment during the selection or training process.
  • Study aviation regulations, airspace, weather, operational safety, and other Part 107 subject areas.
  • Successfully pass the official FAA Part 107 knowledge examination and obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate within the timeframe established by KH Executive Security Consultants.
  • Complete required company training and practical-flight evaluations.
  • Maintain all FAA recurrent training requirements while performing sUAS duties.

Study materials may be provided to assist candidates in preparing for the company readiness assessment.

Candidates who already possess an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate will be required to provide verification and successfully complete company knowledge and practical-flight evaluations.

Obtaining and maintaining a valid FAA Remote Pilot Certificate is required for continued eligibility to perform independent sUAS operations.

Scheduling

Assignments may include:

  • Day shifts
  • Evening shifts
  • Overnight shifts
  • Weekdays
  • Weekends
  • Special events

Scheduling will vary based on operational and client requirements.

Benefits

KH Executive Security Consultants offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance and paid time off (PTO), to eligible employees in accordance with company policy. Health insurance coverage is cost-shared and is not covered at 100% by the company. Specific eligibility criteria, waiting periods, and employee contribution details will be provided upon hire or during the onboarding process.

Applying

Please submit a current résumé clearly identifying your relevant surveillance, command-center, communications, investigative, law enforcement, military, or technical security experience.

Applicants who currently possess an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or Tennessee Armed Security Guard registration should include that information with their application.

Background Screening Notice

By submitting this application, you acknowledge that any offer of employment may be contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background screening. If selected for further consideration, you may be asked to provide additional information and sign a separate authorization form permitting the company to conduct background checks (which may include verification of education, employment history, criminal history, and other relevant records) in accordance with applicable laws.
