What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Roofing position at KGS Construction Services, Inc.?
The KGS Roofing Assistant Superintendent is responsible for the overall field supervision and execution of commercial low-slope roofing projects. This role ensures all work is performed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company safety standards.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience managing construction projects required
- High school education required
- Driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Us work authorization required
- Proficient at operating excel
- Able to learn new software and technology
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of commercial re-roof projects from start to finish to include but not limited to the following;
- Review and become familiar with project specifications, architectural drawings and shop drawings
- Prepare and submit all project related submittals and complete the submittal process
- Develop and manage project safety plans to include ensuring that all required safety equipment is onsite and set up prior to the start of any work
- Perform and document progress, quality control and safety inspections
- Track and document all weather delays and report them to the client and project management team
- Track and document all unit cost work on a daily basis
- Prepare, maintain and distribute progress reports and two week look ahead schedule to client and KGS management team
- Attend all project meetings associated with the projects that are assigned to you
- Coordinate materials and equipment deliveries with vendors and suppliers
- Create schedules for workers and subcontractors
- Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
- Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costs
- Communicate with clients, Project Mangers, other KGS and client management to determine budget and timeline
- Hire additional subcontractors and assign work accordingly
- Maintain a daily log for the project’s operations, reporting to Project Manager as necessary
- Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines and profit margins
- Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient
