Application Tester Location: Houston, TX Job Type: Contract Compensation: $25 - 30 Hourly JobID: 2150922-EQG Description Kforce has a client in Houston, TX that is seeking an Application Tester. Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Application Tester - Billing Systems to ensure the quality and functionality of our billing software applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing test cases, identifying bugs, and collaborating with development and business teams to resolve issues. This role requires a strong understanding of billing processes and the ability to recognize functional and data-related anomalies in system behavior. Key Responsibilities: Review functional specifications and requirements to develop test scenarios and test cases for billing applications Execute manual and automated tests for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) Analyze test results to identify root causes of issues and collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution Validate billing logic, calculations, invoicing processes, and data integrity across systems Perform regression testing during system upgrades or patches Work with business analysts and end users to understand requirements and validate outcomes Assist in test data preparation and environment setup Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and documentation Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of experience in software testing, preferably with billing or financial systems Strong understanding of billing and invoicing processes Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools Familiarity with SQL for querying and validating data Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective written and verbal communication skills The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
