Kforce has a client that is seeking an AWS Administrator - NiFi Administrator in Charlotte, MO.
Summary:
We are seeking a Senior AWS Administrator with strong Apache NiFi administration experience to support and scale our cloud data infrastructure. This role owns the health, security, and performance of our AWS environment while also administering, tuning, and troubleshooting NiFi clusters that power our data delivery pipelines. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating across both cloud infrastructure and data flow orchestration layers, and can work cross-functionally with data engineering, security, and platform teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Administer, monitor, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and related services) supporting production and non-production environments
* Install, configure, upgrade, and administer Apache NiFi clusters, including node scaling, flow deployment, and cluster health monitoring
* Manage NiFi security configuration, including TLS/SSL certificates, user authentication, access policies, and secure communication between nodes
* Troubleshoot and resolve NiFi processor, connection, and cluster-level issues, including performance bottlenecks and back-pressure conditions
* Implement and maintain IAM roles, security groups, and least-privilege access controls across AWS accounts
* Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; proactively identify and remediate infrastructure and pipeline issues
* Support patching, OS hardening, and lifecycle management for EC2 instances hosting NiFi and related services
* Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
* Collaborate with data engineering teams to support NiFi flow development, deployment pipelines, and data validation processes
* Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents affecting AWS infrastructure or NiFi services
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-8 years of experience administering AWS cloud infrastructure in a production environment
* 3 years of hands-on experience administering Apache NiFi, including cluster setup, scaling, and troubleshooting
* Experience with NiFi security hardening (TLS, Keycloak/LDAP integration, access policies)
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible)
* Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar)
* Strong knowledge of core AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and Auto Scaling
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs)
* Proficiency with Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
* Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting
* Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* AWS certification (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or equivalent)
* Experience with NiFi Registry and version-controlled flow deployments
* Experience working in a regulated or enterprise telecom/media environment
* Familiarity with Kafka, ETL/ELT pipelines, or other data integration tools
* Exposure to container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
