Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Hanover, MD that is seeking a Payroll Consultant. Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time
  • Maintain payroll records, employee data, earnings, deductions, and tax information within ADP Workforce Now
  • Support payroll audits and reconcile payroll discrepancies
  • Assist with payroll tax reporting, garnishments, direct deposits, and benefit deductions
  • Partner with HR and implementation teams to troubleshoot payroll and system-related issues
  • Assist with process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Generate payroll and HR reports as needed

Provide support during ADP Workforce Now HCM implementation activities including:

  • Data validation and employee data cleanup
  • Payroll parallel testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Time and attendance configuration support
  • Security role review and workflow testing
  • Employee onboarding and system transition support

Requirements

  • 2 years of payroll processing experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now required
  • Knowledge of payroll tax regulations (federal, state, local)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience supporting payroll audits and reconciliations
  • Familiarity with garnishments, deductions, and direct deposits
  • Exposure to HCM system implementations or system conversions
  • Ability to troubleshoot payroll and system issues
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
