Kforce has a client in Westlake, TX that is seeking a Mainframe Programmer. Duties:
- Design, deploy and support software releases into production environments
- Employ your data security skills to keep our customers' information safe
- Identify the root cause of problems and designs and implements technical design solutions to address them
- 7-10 years of software development experience in business critical, enterprise-wide applications
- Excellent mainframe skills in COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, IBM Utilities, FileAiD, Endevor, SQL, Debuggers, Schedulers, and IOMs
- Ability to perform detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects in the batch and online environments
- Detailed-oriented and execute thorough unit, functional and regression testing
- Ability to perform hands on detailed analysis
- Be proactive in your work in development and designing solutions
- Experienced in handling high severity/ critical production issues
- Excellent documentation skills
- Proven experience writing COBOL/Native stored procedures is a plus (nice to have/willing to learn)
- Experience in Distributed Technologies (nice to have/willing to learn)
