Firewall Solutions Architect

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Firewall Solutions Architect in Tampa, FL. Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Firewall Solutions Architect to lead the design, modernization, and governance of enterprise network security architecture. This individual will drive firewall strategy, network segmentation, Zero Trust initiatives, and security transformation efforts across complex data center, cloud, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong architectural leadership and the ability to guide large-scale infrastructure and security initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and govern enterprise firewall and network security architectures
• Lead firewall modernization initiatives across multi-vendor environments
• Develop network segmentation, micro-segmentation, Zero Trust, and east-west traffic control strategies
• Architect secure connectivity solutions for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Provide technical leadership for firewall policy design, governance, optimization, and risk reduction
• Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, networking, and cloud teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions
• Develop architecture standards, roadmaps, technical documentation, and implementation guidance
• Support compliance, vulnerability remediation, and security improvement initiatives
  
  

Requirements

• Strong experience in designing and leading complex enterprise security solutions
• Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama
• Check Point Firewall Architecture
• Network Segmentation and Micro-Segmentation
• Zero Trust and Network Access Control (NAC)
• Firewall Policy Design and Governance
• VPNs, DMZ Architecture, and Secure Connectivity
• Enterprise Security Architecture
• AWS and/or Azure Network Security
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Utility, energy, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated industry experience
• NERC CIP compliance experience
• OT/ICS/SCADA security knowledge
• CISSP, PCNSE, CCNP Security, CCIE, or similar certifications
• Experience supporting cloud security and network modernization initiatives
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
