Cloud Platform Engineer - Azure Data Svcs (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Charlotte, NC that is seeking a hands-on Azure cloud/platform engineer who has built and automated Azure Databricks and Azure Data Services infrastructure with Terraform, understands the Lakehouse ecosystem, and can design a governed, scalable platform for data engineering and AI/ML users. Responsibilities:

• Build and automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform
• Design, deploy, and manage Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics)
• Optimize data storage, access, and performance across distributed systems
• Collaborate with data engineering and application teams to ensure optimal data ingestion, transformation, and storage strategies
  
  

Requirements

• 7 years of experience in cloud platform engineering, with at least 4 years focused on Microsoft Azure
• Experience of integrating Azure data services with Azure Databricks
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform, Python, and PowerShell/Bash for automation and Infrastructure as Code
• Hands-on experience deploying and configuring Azure Databricks, ideally using Terraform
• Experience supporting or building Azure Lakehouse platforms, with the ability to design governed, scalable environments for data engineers, data scientists, and AI/ML users
• Strong experience implementing and integrating Azure data services, including Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake
• Solid understanding of database administration, performance tuning, security, access control, and cloud governance
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, along with Agile delivery methodologies
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support best practices in cloud environments
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
