AI Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking an AI Engineer in Port Washington, NY. Responsibilities:

• AI Engineer will build and deploy AI/ML models in production environments
• Develop automation solutions for complex operational workflows
• Create and maintain scalable data pipelines for large datasets
• Integrate AI solutions with existing systems and tools
• Monitor and optimize model performance and reliability
• Partner with business and technical teams to solve operational challenges
• As an AI Engineer, you will deliver data-driven tools and dashboards for decision support
• Ensure responsible AI practices, including validation, governance, and risk mitigation
• Rapidly prototype solutions to drive efficiency and cost savings
• Apply AI across areas such as routing, workforce planning, inventory, and operations
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
• 5 years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or analytics
• Advanced SQL and experience with relational databases
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and data tools (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn)
• Experience building APIs or integrating systems
• Experience handling large datasets and ensuring data quality
• Experience with Git or version control tools
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) preferred
• Familiarity with modern AI solution patterns (e.g., agent-based or retrieval approaches)
• Strong Python development skills for production solutions
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Hands-on, results-focused approach to delivering business impact
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with some travel
• Exposure to deep learning, computer vision, or optimization techniques preferred
• Background in logistics, supply chain, or operations preferred
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
