KFI Products is seeking a motivated CAD Designer / Mechanical Design Technician to join our Engineering team. We are looking for individuals ranging from recent graduates with a 2-year CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Design, or Engineering Technology degree to experienced CAD designers looking to further their careers in product design and manufacturing.
We also welcome internship applicants who are currently enrolled in a CAD or Mechanical Design program and are looking to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
KFI Products designs and manufactures snow plows, winch mounts, bumpers, hitches, and powersports accessories sold throughout North America and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Create and revise 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop detailed part, weldment, and assembly drawings.
- Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Assist with new product development and product improvements.
- Support manufacturing by resolving design and drawing issues.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service.
- Create installation instructions and technical documentation.
- Assist with prototype fabrication, testing, and product validation.
- Participate in continuous product improvement and cost-reduction projects.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in CAD Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- SolidWorks experience preferred.
- Ability to read and create manufacturing drawings.
- Understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and sheet metal manufacturing.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and solve problems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
