JOB SUMMARY: Administers Keytronic’s quote process by coordinating quote activities within multiple departments to assure accurate and timely delivery of quotes. Establishes pricing models, assesses quote costs, and analyzes data. Develops, improves, and maintains quoting process to meet Keytronic’s business objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
- Facilitates and coordinates assigned quote activity for the company and establishes new improved standard quoting processes and systems.
- Deliver/present accurate and comprehensive product quotes based upon a combination of financial analysis, component/industry experience, and rational reasoning.
- Apply logic and sanity check all material and other costs. Work with quote team and engineering to ensure lowest possible material and other costs before quotes are routed for signatures.
- Coordinates quote kickoffs and review of RFQ template before setting up the appropriate meeting.
- Works with finance and IT to develop methods to improve and enhance the quote process, pricing worksheets, and quote-related software.
- Coordinates assigned quote activity with engineering and materials quoting team to assure accurate and timely delivery.
- Continually challenges engineering and material quoting teams to provide lowest possible total cost solutions.
- Analyzes data and compares KTC quotes to any target pricing received from the customer, previous quoting efforts and assesses cost effectiveness of the quotes.
- Establishes pricing models for each customer based on agreed parameters, looking for ways to increase margins and revenue for customer quotes.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
- Manage multiple quotes simultaneously and meet expected timelines.
- Review and analyze material costs, routings, Non Recurring Engineering (NRE), custom tooling, and all other cost aspects of quotes.
- Initiate, attend and lead meetings as needed to support quoting activities.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Interfaces with customers as required.
- Performs other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties. .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
- One to two years of experience in an office environment.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing cost reductions.
- Strong ability to effectively manage timelines with experience in managing manufacturing quotes.
- The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
- Extensive experience with Excel and other database programs with a strong knowledge of MRP systems.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound written and oral communication skills; must be able to write and understand routine reports, follow oral and written instructions, and speak effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people.
- Must have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment and be familiar with commonly used email, Internet, word processing, databases and spreadsheets.
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and materials. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in business, finance or accounting.
- Two to four years direct experience with managing quotes, BOMs, and working with a cross functional team and ability to coordinator NPI’s and materials issues.
- Experience in Contract Manufacturing and EMS industry desired with an emphasis in supporting an offshore manufacturing facility.
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Chinese.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, and effectively communicate. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with some areas that may be louder at times.
