- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for assigned trades and scopes.
- Help develop material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and supplier pricing.
- Solicit subcontractor and supplier bids and build strong trade-partner relationships.
- Review proposals for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
- Help identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential project risks.
- Develop clear scopes of work and maintain organized estimating documentation.
- Participate in bid reviews, pre-bid meetings, site visits, and preconstruction meetings.
- Support conceptual estimating using drawings, historical information, and available project data.
- Help prepare customer proposals and other bid documentation.
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
- Review completed project results and job-cost information to understand estimating accuracy and construction costs.
- Continue developing your knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequencing, technology, and industry best practices.
- Take advantage of training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn the business, ask questions, solve problems, and grow into a confident construction professional.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and project documents.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
- A willingness to learn and develop within the construction industry.
