As a Class “A” HVAC, Electrical, and General Contractor with over 15 years of experience in federal contracting, artisan construction, and facility maintenance, we specialize in complex installations within sensitive environments where precision and quality matter most.
Our work spans 60% commercial, 30% federal, and 10% residential projects (primarily high-end or estate systems). We are growing rapidly and looking for a Lead HVAC Technician who wants to grow with us.
Role Description
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Lead HVAC Technician to join our team in Chesapeake, VA.
This is a full-time, salaried leadership position ($72,000–$102,000 annually / $35–$49 per hour DOE) that blends technical expertise, mentorship, and project coordination.
As a Lead Technician, you’ll oversee day-to-day field operations — managing service, installation, and maintenance projects — while guiding technicians and upholding Keystone’s standard of craftsmanship and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform service, installation, and maintenance on commercial, federal, and high-end residential HVAC systems
- Diagnose, repair, and commission VRF systems, chillers, and building automation controls
- Coordinate with project managers and office staff to plan and execute projects efficiently
- Oversee ductwork, piping, electrical, and plumbing connections as they relate to HVAC systems
- Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Mentor and train technicians and apprentices, promoting growth and technical excellence
- Maintain accurate service documentation and clear client communication
- Represent Keystone’s brand and values with professionalism, reliability, and pride.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of HVAC field experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
- Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- EPA certification required; journeyman or master license preferred
- Proven ability to manage crews, coordinate projects, and maintain high standards of quality
- Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and communication skills
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and leadership presence
- Experience in commercial and federal HVAC work strongly preferred
- Trade school diploma or equivalent certification encouraged
