Position Summary
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor provides high-quality clinical services to individuals and/or families in accordance with ethical, professional, and organizational standards. This is a full-time position that includes a comprehensive benefits package.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families for the purpose of treating emotional and behavioral disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, substance use assessments, and behavioral health screenings and assessments.
- Conduct individual, group or family sessions as appropriate as documented in the treatment plan of the patient.
- Provide initial treatment planning for patients based on assessment and coordinate any additional services needed, revising as necessary.
- Maintain documentation of therapy services provided to each patient according to facility and professional standards and revise as indicated by facility or professional standard.
- Maintain a caseload.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with other staff to facilitate services for the patient, as appropriate to their treatment plan.
- May perform case management, discharge or after care planning as needed.
- Requires at least a master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in counseling, psychology or social work, or related field.
- Two or more years of experience working with individuals who have mental health disorders.
- Requires an LPC, LISW-CP or LMFT license.
