Job Summary
The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes within the organization. This leadership role ensures compliance with industry regulations and standards, including ISO 17025, FDA regulations, NYS OCM, NELAP and CGLP. The Director will lead a team dedicated to maintaining high-quality standards in quality assurance and will be instrumental in implementing effective quality management systems.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations, public and private agencies, accreditation bodies, and internal policy & procedure.
- Conduct regular quality audits to assess adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee the quality control processes including inspection protocols and testing methods to ensure process integrity.
- Lead the development of quality management systems that align with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives within laboratory processes.
- Analyze data related to product quality and performance to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables related to quality assurance initiatives.
- Provide training and support to staff on quality systems, QA/QC practices, and regulatory requirements.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the QA process, regulatory compliance, FDA regulations, NELAP (preferred), and ISO 17025.
- Proven experience in conducting quality audits and inspections within a regulated environment.
- Strong background in quality control methodologies and practices.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Exceptional analytical skills for data interpretation and problem-solving.
