The Controller will serve as a strategic partner to the CFO, overseeing the modernization, optimization, and execution of the company’s accounting operations and financial frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting, Compliance & Analysis
- Direct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare detailed cash flow projections, income statements, and balance sheets for the corporate entity, investment funds, and individual properties.
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide actionable explanations to executive management and ownership.
- Track and allocate all revenues/expenses into proper accounts for multi-entity consolidations.
- Follow all GAAP regulatory standards to maintain compliance.
- Strategic CFO Partnership
- Act as the CFO’s primary deputy on corporate financial strategy.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable portfolio growth insights.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on capital allocation and investment decisions.
- Financial Oversight & Modernization
- Modernize traditional accounting workflows and asset-level reporting procedures.
- Help lead the transition toward advanced, data-driven real estate ERP systems.
- Enforce robust internal controls across all corporate and property entities to reduce financial risk.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor accounting teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous process improvement and accountability.
- Establish clear performance metrics aligned with company milestones.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of accounting experience required; 2 years' experience in an in-house, hands-on accounting role.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel required.

Pay range and compensation package
Salary will be commensurate with experience but ideally would fall in the range of $95k to $120k
