Tutoring School Year Position Options
as an AmeriCorps Member
Documents needed to enroll: Government Issued Photo ID, Signed Social Security Card, US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship.
Pay does not affect other benefits currently being received since this is not employment if applicable.
Service Site Location(s): Crawford Central School District (First District School)
Currently, CCSD is not able to provide interventions with the frequency and duration needed to move our struggling students to their academic potential. (Ann Noonen- Crawford District)
Schedule depends on the length of the term of service: Options
- Reduced Half Time through the school year
- Reduced Half Time Hours through July
Monthly Pretax Living Allowance:
RHT Hours (40 hours for 19 weeks) - $2,491.12 Monthly Gross
Does not affect social security, retirement, or other benefits while serving in the AmeriCorps program.

3/3/26 - 7/15/26
3/10/26 - 7/22/26
3/17/26 - 7/31/26
Term Education Award: $2,817.14
- Additionally, federal loan forbearance (pause in loan payments) while serving in AmeriCorps
- Accrued interest while serving as an AmeriCorps member paid by AmeriCorps program
- Education Award earned when program is successfully completed
- If you are 55 years of age or older, you can transfer the education award to a child, grandchild, or foster child. The education award is available for 10 years to use in the name of the recipient.

All members must participate in a three-day pre-service training which may be virtual or in-person.
AmeriCorps is a national service program in which during membership members also agree to participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities.
Activities are concentrated in the following areas:
- School Readiness & Success
- Mentoring Youth through Service
- Academic support service
- Community Strengthening through Outreach Events and Special Projects
- STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities and service learning
- Host sites may have additional areas of focus to be discussed at host site interview.
