Job Description
Keystone Scientific Glass LLC is looking for a detail‑oriented Glass Finishing Technician to support the production of custom laboratory glassware. This role focuses on critical mechanical processing and finishing stages, preparing glass components before and after hot forming to ensure precise assembly and final product quality.
Responsibilities
· Operate diamond wet saws and thermal cutting machines to cut borosilicate glass tubes and rods to specified dimensions.
· Grind, lap, and polish glass connectors and joints using cold‑working lathes and cast‑iron lapping machines to achieve hermetic seals.
· Perform annealing and thermal stabilization of finished glass pieces using programmable chamber furnaces, with stress verification via polariscope.
· Prepare glass powder and other materials for specialized filter components.
· Assist scientific glassblowers with material preparation and basic assembly tasks.
· Maintain grinding and cutting equipment, including routine cleaning and coolant changes.
Qualifications
· Previous experience in glass cutting, grinding, or finishing in a manufacturing or laboratory setting.
· Familiarity with diamond tools, grinding lathes, and precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers).
· Understanding of the material properties of borosilicate glass.
· Manual dexterity and patience for handling delicate, high‑value components.
· Ability to follow strict process instructions and quality checklists.
· Technical certification or vocational training in glass processing is a plus.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
