Production Supervisor 1st shift

Production Supervisor

Keystone Powdered Metal Company, a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for an experienced full-time Production Supervisor for the 1st   shift to work in our Cherryville, NC, location. This person will report to the Plant Manager. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• To oversee and direct all personnel and day-to-day activities.
• Effectively conduct daily startup meetings with employees.
• Provide day-to-day direction to subordinates, as well as setting and monitoring quality and performance objectives for the department
• Insure that all subordinates are informed of and adhere to all pertinent company rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
• Responsible for the overall day-to-day efficient and safe operation of the department.
• Actively participate in the training and evaluation of employees.
• Develop and write procedures.
• Communicate department matters throughout the organization.
• Provide active input to continuous process improvement.
• Within a team environment, efficiently and safely perform all functions to maximize equipment operations and team harmony.
• Performance review of all subordinates.
• Responsible for human resource composition of the department.
• Responsible for the control of variable costs of the department
• Actively participate in the settlement of employee concerns.
• Startup and shutdown of the plant
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Maintain an effective record system
• Assists in the formation of capital requirements and the implementation of the programs.
• Monitor and maintain the departmental supplies
• Interview prospective employees.
• Cycle Counts.
• Daily production tracking report.
• Safety and  Quality audits

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write. Must be able to comprehend procedures, process documents, and work instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal process and progress information.
• Exhibit good people skills through team building and leadership.
• Machine background preferred.
• Ability to do basic math with decimals and fractions
• 3 years of oversight of 25 or more hourly associates
• Book-ending conforming products.
