Position Summary
Keystone Perfusion Services, PC is seeking a Full-Time Staff Perfusionist to join our cardiac team at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. This is an opportunity to work alongside a high-performing and collaborative cardiac surgery team in a teaching hospital environment committed to clinical excellence.

Clinical Setting

• Cardiac Surgical Services
• Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
• Intensive Care / Cardiovascular Intensive Care Units
• Emergent bypass support areas in the hospital
• Annual case volume: approximately 200–250 open-heart procedures, including CABG and valve repair/replacement. Minimal ECMO support. No transplant or VAD cases.

Supervision Structure

• Direct supervision: Physician performing the procedure and on-site Manager of Perfusion Services
• Indirect supervision: Regional Perfusion Manager and Keystone Executive Leadership

Scope of Responsibilities

• Operate and manage extracorporeal circulation systems (e.g., heart-lung bypass)
• Involvement with ECMO, IABP, autotransfusion, hemofiltration, and blood gas analysis
• Administer medications, blood products, and anesthetic agents via the extracorporeal circuit
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient documentation
• Coordinate care with surgical and ICU teams
• Support patient resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed
• Maintain equipment logs and perform routine equipment checks
• Participate in education, quality assurance, and research activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion program
• Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Pennsylvania Perfusion License
