What are the responsibilities and job description for the CRNA position at Keystone Oral Surgery?
What You'll Be Doing:
- Examines and assesses patients before anesthesia including reviewing medical history and planning anesthesia delivery. Participates in preoperative teaching of patients, families, and staff on anesthesia aspects related to conditions and diseases. Reassures patient before procedure.
- Prepares for anesthetic management. Ensures availability of required supplies and equipment before anesthetic procedure.
- Administers various types of anesthesia to keep the patient pain free, including inhalational, intravenous, and regional anesthetics based on anesthetic plan and under direction of staff oral surgeon.
- Performs any necessary invasive procedures including insertion of catheters/ IV.
- Observes and records all patient functions being continuously monitored and evaluates need for ancillary drugs to maintain normal functioning.
- Consults with staff as necessary regarding patient’s condition.
- Documents results for patient record including all relevant assessment, care, and monitoring data.
- Accompanies patient to recovery area to ensure condition is satisfactory. Oversees recovery from anesthesia. Follows the patient’s postoperative course from recovery room to hospital room.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For and What We Offer:
- BSN from accredited school of nursing. Successful completion of anesthesia program.
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, with one year of acute care nursing experience and 1-2 years of experience as certified registered nurse anesthetist.
- Current RN state license for PA. Current certification with the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Current CPR certificate.
- Knowledge of wide variety of anesthetics and procedures including spinal, intravenous, regional, and other techniques. Understands application of peripheral venous and radial arterial catheters. Stays current with new anesthesia trends.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $250.00 - $300.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
Experience:
- CRNA: 2 years (Required)
- Oral surgery: 2 years (Preferred)
